The Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BELTA) is the largest news agency in the Republic of Belarus, the most authoritative source of operational information on the activities of the country's highest authorities.
BELTA was founded on December 23, 1918. For a long time, preserving legal independence, it worked in close coordination with the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union (TASS). Since 1991, BELTA is an information agency of the sovereign Republic of Belarus.
It works in real time, posting news on its own website in Belarusian, Russian, English, German, Spanish and Chinese.
The project was prepared in cooperation with the Belarusian Telegraph Agency.

The souvenir sheet and special postmark are based on the logos of the 100th anniversary of BELTA: "News make history" and BELTA 1918-2018 respectively (author I.Bufetova).
