100th birth anniversary of A.A. Gromyko

On July 18, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue a stamp “100th birth anniversary of A. A.  Gromyko”.
Designer: Nikolai Ryzhi. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 133/4: 131/2. Size of the stamp: 26x37 mm. Sheet composition: 6 (3x2) stamps. Size of the sheet: 101x97 mm. Print quantity: 60.000 stamps.
Historical reference. Andrei A. Gromyko (July 5, 1909, Belarusian village of Starye Gromyki — July 2, 1989, Moscow) was a prominent politician and diplomat of XX century. He served as Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. He was a well-known statesman and political figure. Gromyko took part in the establishing of the United Nations Organization. On behalf of the USSR he signed the Charter of the United Nations in 1945. As Soviet foreign minister Gromyko played a direct role in conclusion of many disarmament agreements which are the international stronghold ofpeacetill today.
